Love to flyfish? Try worldclass bonefishing south of Playa about 2 hours.
Bonefish are pound for pound one of the strongest fish you can catch. They are caught on a fly rod or on conventional spin tackle and they give anglers an exhilarating reel screaming first run with a few more runs during the fight.
Most bonefish caught in the Yucatan are what many consider to be small Bonefish. From about 2lb to 5lbs these fish can be found all year long in most locations but more important are found in numbers. They may not be a 10lb or 12lb Florida or Bahamas Bonefish but you are also the only one on the flats and will not be fighting other boats or guides to get the fish.
Ascension Bay, at the southern tip of the Yucatan offers excellent Bonefishing to anglers all year and is a great place to land your first fish or for a seasoned fishermen looking for lots of action.
